Hillhurst-Sunnyside Community Association (HSCA) partnered with imagineCALGARY to demonstrate the ways we are contributing to long-term sustainability in our city. The partnership ensures that our vision aligns with that of iC, but also is an opportunity to re-think our priorities and bring focus to the areas we want to become leaders in.
In early 2014, we set out to determine which iC systems and targets are most relevant to HSCA. Easier said than done as an organization that represents such a broad spectrum of engaged residents. Our activities range from to supporting small-scale entrepreneurial endeavours at the Sunday flea market, collaborating on vibrant place making projects, to enabling resident led community garden potlucks. We know that our volunteers and staff take pride in many of these areas - now we want to find out what our residents are most proud of, and ask them the important questions.
The imagineHSCA campaign was born out of HSCA’s desire to understand how we can best support our residents, and ensure that our vision for the future is a shared one. We want to dream collectively on how to build an even stronger and more vibrant Hillhurst-Sunnyside. On November 13, our communities will come together to hear from amazing resident leaders and discuss how to prioritize the areas in which HSCA is making an impact.
We all play a role in weaving the communal fabric, and it starts with talking to your neighbor. Resilient communities are the foundation of making our city sustainable - in every sense of the word! HSCA is excited to be a part of the imagineCALGARY movement, collectively making our city an even better place to live.
