Taming that Monster Under the Bed
June 9-10
Climate change, the global landscape and the economy will be the topics of discussion at Taming That Monster Under The Bed: Exploring Critical Relationships Between Supply Chains and the Environment. Scheduled for June 9-10, the conference will offer the audience a chance to understand the impact of climate change, and how it will affect the supply chain.
Taming That Monster is being hosted by the Logistics Joint Learning Initiative, and will feature industry experts Dr. Thomas Homer-Dixon (Synthesis, Wrap Up and Meeting the Challenges Together), Sheila Watt-Cloutier (Understanding The Challenges Ahead), and Dr. Roger Gibbins (Setting the Context for the Conference Conversations) as keynote speakers.
Presenters will address topics including greenhouse gas emissions, human behavior in times of crisis, technology integration and emergency planning and preparedness. Sessions are being divided into two themes – Impact of Supply Chains on the Environment and Impact of the Environment on Supply Chains.
The fee for the conference is $550 plus GST ($75 plus GST for Students), and attendance is free to Committee members and speakers. Activities will take place at the Ross Glen Hall at Mount Royal College.
