Plan It Invites Public Input

Plan It Calgary represents the next step in the evolution of the imagineCALGARY initiative. In developing this land use and transportation policy, The City of Calgary used 11 sustainability principles from imagineCALGARY as a foundation, in addition to Smart Growth principles and City of Calgary policy.

The first draft of the Plan It document includes three key components:

• Introduction, background and methodology
• Municipal Development Plan
• Calgary Transportation Plan

You can download copies of these first drafts online.

From now until April 17, the public is being invited to offer their input into the Plan It documents. Open houses to present the plan were held across the city earlier this month, but you can still go online with your feedback at The City of Calgary website.

The Municipal Development Plan and Calgary Transportation Plan will be discussed at a public hearing with Calgary’s City Council in June 2009. Once these documents have been approved, they’ll become the guiding planning documents for The City of Calgary.
