Committee Corner
The three imagineCALGARY Committees have been busy this summer helping bring the imagineCALGARY Vision to life.
Steering Committee
The Steering Committee continues work on the development of two critical documents: Indicators of Success, the tool meant to measure the health of the imagineCALGARY Partnership and The Partner Recruitment and Engagement Strategy, the plan that details the identification of new partners as well as outlining ways to support and foster the engagement of existing Partners. Both documents are identified as key elements of success for the imagineCALGARY movement.
Indicators of Success will help inform both existing Partners and the community at large about how things are evolving within the Partnership, detailing the successes achieved to date and what action has been taking place to advance the imagineCALGARY Vision. The Partner Recruitment and Engagement Strategy is taking a holistic approach to membership, identifying those mechanisms and tools needed for new member growth and equally importantly, seeking to define those supporting actions which help keep existing Partners inspired, visioning and taking action on imagineCALGARY Targets and goals.
Collaborative Action Committee
Identifying action to take in support of Economic Well Being, Environmental Sustainability and High School Completion/Transitions has been the focus of the Collaborative Action Committee in June and July.
An All Partners Event is planned for late September where the Funders for Youth will make a presentation on the current status of the Kafe12 project. In addition to increasing awareness of this exciting initiative and supporting the virtual conversation on the www.kafe12.org website, the Event will provide opportunities for imagineCALGARY Partners to identify strategies to leverage this important work.
Within the Environmental Sustainability theme, research is underway to identify time-sensitive targets that could be at risk of not being met. A Mercury callback for broad thermometers, much like the CHR is going to do internally, will also be investigated.
Communications and Awareness Committee
The Communications and Awareness Committee has made some significant gains in the past month. The updated website now increases the functionality of imaginecalgary.ca and includes an online form for organizations to sign on as Partners, plus a referral page to invite others to become Partners.
The details around the November imagineCALGARY event are being sorted as well. Save November 12 in your calendars! Details to follow soon.
Finally, the imagineCALGARY Awards nomination packages have been released. Check them out and nominate an organization you think is doing great work towards achieving the imagineCALGARY Vision.
