City of Calgary was awarded the CH2M Hill Sustainable Communities Award by the Federation of Canadian Municipalities

On Saturday, June 2, 2007, the city of Calgary was awarded the CH2M Hill Sustainable Communities Award by the Federation of Canadian Municipalities (FCM) for its creation of the imagineCALGARY Plan and engagement process.

imagineCALGARY won the award for the "Sustainable Community Planning" Category.Ê The presentation was made at the FCM conference, Leading Change that was held in Calgary. Mayor Bronconnier accepted the award on behalf of the city of Calgary.

Calgary was one of ten municipalities across the country that was recognized for their efforts in sustainable community development. Other award recipients included Dawson Creek, B.C., Capital Regional District of Victoria, B.C., Town of Ladysmith, B.C., Regional Municipality of York, Ontario, City of Toronto, Ontario, Hamilton, Ontario, Town of East Gwillembury, Ontario, Quebec City, Quebec and Charlottetown, PEI.
